Cigar World Phnom Penh: Grand Opening in the Capital's Diplomatic Quarter
On March 25, 2025, Cigar World Phnom Penh held its official grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Ambassador Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra of Cuba, accompanied by members of the Cuban delegation, venue stakeholders, and our representative from CigarLocator™.

Embassy Backing in Tonle Bassac
Tonle Bassac's reputation as home to embassies, ministries, and power brokers provided the backdrop for the event. The Cuban ambassador attended while Mr. Sophea Chan, Managing Director of Cigar World, delivered the welcoming speech.
The ribbon-cutting featured Lorrain Talmant of Pacific Cigar Company Cambodia, Ambassador Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra, and other VIPs. First Secretary Yoneski Armenteros Gutierrez from the Cuban Embassy was present at the event. Also in attendance was Alexis Tang, former Business Development Manager at Pacific Cigar.
The Cigar Selection and Experience
Every guest received a Cohiba Club Mini upon arrival. Inside, the humidor displayed Cuban cigars: Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, Trinidad, Hoyo de Monterrey, and H. Upmann. These same iconic brands were represented outside by seven models in black dresses, each wearing a sash featuring one of the cigar names from the collection inside.
The outdoor event featured live music and Brazilian-style Churrasco dinner served tableside.
Seven brands. Seven sashes. One statement. Cigar World’s grand opening featured models representing each Cuban label from the humidor—Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, Trinidad, Hoyo de Monterrey, and H. Upmann.

Beyond Ceremonial
This wasn't just a ceremonial launch. The venue features private VIP rooms, an expansive courtyard, approximately 100-person capacity, and a properly curated humidor.
